Looking at things a bit differently, rediscovering everyday places and forgotten corners, stirring the imagination…
It's simply a matter of interweaving different artistic fields, bringing popular and symbolic customs back to the present... involving and engaging the public…
Dare to make your dreams come true!
The projects I propose are unique thanks to their experimentation with multiple artistic fields. As they are neither exhibitions, nor shows, I have chosen the term "mise en site" or "scenographies" to define my creations.
More often than not, it is the location where the action is due to take place that inspires me. Even if sometimes the site itself can fade into the background, I rely on its architecture, its history or the associations it evokes. If I respond to a certain theme, then I look for ways to adapt it on the site.
The three main themes of my creations are: a setting in a (public) space; lighting and traditions.
Whether visualized as private or public events, these installations and performances are – by their nature – transitory, ephemeral. I prefer it when they invite participation and encourage audience interaction - whether it is initiated by the public, or inherent in the work itself.
My performances have no linear narrative that you can follow with a beginning, a middle and an end; there is simply a thread. The audience is never passive. I ensure that they feel free to move around in the setting; it is up to them to participate.
The actors are living beings that inhabit the setting and stimulate the imaginations of passers-by, guests, walkers and strollers... who are much more than just mere spectators.
