Complementing the lighting of the Manufacture des Tabacs (The Tobacco Factory) to create a harmonious nightscape.
For this project, my approach was more reminiscent of New Year’s Eve’s than Christmas itself, evoking a party atmosphere that blended harmoniously with a contemporary vision of the festive season.
To maximise a tight budget, I repurposed decorations from the city's own collection and complemented them with some traditional ornaments.
Given the proximity of the Avenue des Frères Lumière to the Tobacco Factory, my initial premise was to propose a project that continued the brightly-coloured lighting of the Factory to create a coherent night landscape.
As the lighting on the Tobacco Factory is, in itself, uncompromisingly modern, my idea was to design a scene that still evoked traditional, end-of-year festivities.
